We are seeking a technically driven Application Engineer to join our Automation Team. This mid-level role focuses on Automation Support for Japan, with future opportunities to expand into other Phoenix Contact product lines.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To be the expert on Automation related products and solutions
- Collaborate with Sales or Business Development Team to conduct joint customer visits, site assessments, and technical presentations on the selection, installation, configuration, and operation of our electrical products.
- Work closely with regional sales subsidiaries and assist with generating sales & marketing enablement collaterals not limited to demos, white papers, short videos etc.
- Design and Develop Phoenix Contact product-mix solutions and systems with market-orientated value propositions to address market and customers demands, needs and pain points.
- Provide timely accurate application and technical support to the region sales subsidiaries and customers for product related topics.
- Conduct multi-tier product and solution training to different audience segments.
- Support marketing activities in seminars, trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events, including designing and/or revamping of products static and active displays.
- Work effectively as part of a team to achieve individual, team and departmental objectives, sharing knowledge and skills as appropriate.
REQUIREMENT:
- Minimum Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Automation or related field).
- Conversational proficiency in Japanese is required to support regional collaboration.
- Experience and understanding of industrial networking (e.g., managed switches, VPN, Wi-Fi, interface converters) and/or automation (PLC, control, I/O's)
- Strong passion for automation systems and electrical products.
- Good presentation skill and fluent in English, both oral and written.
- Proficient with Windows based applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Problem solver, customer-driven and results-oriented.
- Organized, persistent, proactive and must be a good team player.
- Willing to travel within short notice e.g. Training, Trade shows, etc.
