What's The Role
Join us as a Senior Application Analyst Finance, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and supporting financial solutions for the Upstream Oil & Gas business. In this position, you will serve as a key Application Support expert, leveraging your deep knowledge of Shell's S/4HANA Finance General Ledger and related development capabilities. You'll work closely with business stakeholders to design, enhance, and deliver reliable, highquality solutions that enable operational excellence, streamlined processes, and stronger financial performance across the organization.
What You'll Be Doing
- Deliver endtoend S/4HANA Finance General Ledger (GL) Accounting & Asset Accounting (AA) solutions, translating complex business and process requirements into robust technical specifications.
- Apply strong knowledge in asset reporting across IFRS, US GAAP, and various local tax reporting frameworks.
- Utilize indepth General Ledger & Asset Accounting expertise, with specific emphasis on Oil & Gas industry processes and standards.
- Configure S/4HANA Finance components in alignment with best practices, ensuring adherence to established build and governance standards.
- Manage S/4HANA configuration and master data activities, ensuring seamless crossfunctional integration with other SAP modules.
- Collaborate with Process Architects and Design Authorities to shape IT solutions that accurately address business requirements.
- Partner with Lead Business Analysts and Process Experts to produce detailed technical design specifications for complex solutions.
- Conduct thorough problem analysis to identify the root causes of incidents, escalating appropriately to prevent recurrence and improve system stability.
- Lead defect resolution during testing, hyper care, and critical incident periods, supporting Run & Maintain teams in resolving production issues.
- Define, safeguard, and continuously improve IT solutions to ensure they are robust, scalable, and fully supportablemaintaining comprehensive documentation ahead of reviews.
- Identify and recommend enhancements or optimization opportunities within existing solution designs.
- Maintain deep functional knowledge of the assigned modules and their role in supporting endtoend business processes.
- Ensure all system changes and configurations are fully, accurately, and consistently documented.
- Adhere to all Group and Upstream IT standards, policies, and processes, ensuring full compliance in all deliverables and activities.
What You Bring
- 9 to 12 years of experience in SAP S/4HANA Finance, with deep expertise in GL Accounting & Asset Accounting configuration and a strong understanding of related business processes.
- Proficiency in Bank Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Special Purpose Ledger Accounting is essential.
- Hands-on experience in 12 end-to-end implementations, with a proven track record of delivering robust solutions for complex Finance business processes.
- Should have worked and coordinated with Integration of Connected Applications.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex change requests and enhancements, with solid knowledge of Financial Close, Consolidation, and Group Reporting activities.
- Working knowledge of S/4HANA integration with other modules is also a must.
- Strong familiarity with S/4HANA implementation methodologies and best practices.
- Commitment to meeting customer requirements and expectations, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and ownership of deliverables.
- Excellent problem analysis and strong English communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks effectively, prioritizing as needed.
- Experience in global implementation and support of S/4HANA GL Accounting solutions.
