Senior Native Android Developer + AWS Backend

Required Experience & Skills

• 7+ years of strong Android development experience, preferably in consumer/mobile-first products.

• Excellent Kotlin, Android SDK, Jetpack, MVVM/Clean Architecture, REST APIs, local storage, background tasks, FCM/push notifications, and performance optimization.

• Hands-on backend experience on AWS: Lambda, API Gateway, Cognito, DynamoDB/RDS, S3, CloudFront, IAM, CloudWatch, and related services.

• Strong understanding of authentication, data security, subscriptions/in-app purchases, analytics, privacy, and scalable API design.

• Ability to independently plan architecture, estimate effort, identify risks, write documentation, and make long-term technical decisions.

• Experience launching and maintaining apps on the Google Play Store.

Key Responsibilities

• Build high-quality native Android apps using Kotlin, modern Android architecture, and clean, reusable code.

• Own app architecture for onboarding, login, profiles, subscriptions, content flows, quiz/game screens, notifications, analytics, and user progress.

• Design and develop AWS backend services for authentication, user data, content delivery, subscriptions, rewards/progress, messaging, admin tools, and reporting.

• Create secure, scalable APIs and data models that can support multiple non-Unity apps over time.

• Set up caching, local storage, offline/preload flows, server-driven configuration, and app performance monitoring.

• Manage release readiness: testing, crash monitoring, Play Store deployment, versioning, documentation, and handover discipline.

Good to Have

• Experience with learning, quiz, content-heavy, kids/family, social/private messaging, or gaming-adjacent apps.

• Working knowledge of Firebase services such as FCM, Crashlytics, Analytics, Remote Config, or Firestore.

• Experience with admin panels, CMS/content pipelines, shared account systems, or multi-app backend platforms.

Role Summary

We are building a portfolio of consumer mobile apps in learning and content-led experiences. This is a hands-on senior role for someone who can convert product requirements into reliable mobile + backend systems. The person should be able to design the architecture, write production-quality code, make sensible technical decisions, and guide junior developers where required.
