Tax Analyst – US Taxation (Hedge Funds / Private Equity)

Job Purpose
We are seeking a Tax Analyst – US Taxation to support the firm's hedge fund and private equity structures. The role involves hands-on preparation and review of US federal tax workpapers and returns, investor-level reporting, and collaboration with global tax, accounting, and data teams.
This position is ideal for professionals with US partnership tax experience, exposure to alternative investment funds, and the ability to work with large, complex datasets in a process-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
US Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Prepare and review US federal partnership tax returns (Form 1065) and related tax workpapers
- Prepare and review Schedule K-1s, year-end allocations, and investor-level tax calculations
- Assist in preparation of federal extensions, tax estimates, and supporting schedules
- Review and prepare foreign and information returns such as Forms 8865, 8621 (PFIC), 8990, 926, and related disclosures
- Perform Book-to-Tax reconciliations, wash sale and QDI analysis
Fund & Investor-Level Support
- Prepare master-feeder and investor-level allocations for hedge funds and private equity structures
- Support tax withholding calculations and investor correspondence
- Generate and validate reports from multiple systems (NAV reports, accounting systems, tax software)
- Maintain and deliver standardized tax reporting packages as per client or internal requirements
Data, Systems & Collaboration
- Work with large datasets using advanced Excel to perform reconciliations, analytics, and reporting
- Interface with centralized data systems and coordinate with NAV, accounting, and data teams
- Assist in responding to tax notices and drafting communication using standard templates
- Support ongoing tax projects and ad-hoc initiatives across the tax team
Team & Process Excellence
- Support training and onboarding of junior team members on new projects
- Participate in kickoff and debrief calls with engagement teams
- Contribute to process improvements and documentation to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Experience
Key Requirements:
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in US tax compliance
- Strong exposure to hedge funds, private equity, or alternative investment funds
- Prior experience with Big 4, global financial institutions, or fund administrators preferred
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of US partnership taxation
- Hands-on experience with:
- Form 1065, Schedule K-1
- PFIC calculations and foreign forms
- Tax estimates, extensions, and workpapers
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with tax systems such as CCH, GoSystem, or similar
- Ability to analyze and reconcile data across multiple systems
