Senior Analyst – Renewable Project Finance
Role Overview
We're seeking a Senior Analyst to support US renewable energy developers in structuring, analyzing, and optimizing project finance for solar PV, wind, and battery energy storage (BESS) projects. This is a client-facing advisory role combining deep financial modeling expertise with a strong working knowledge of the US renewable energy policy and incentive landscape — helping developers navigate tax equity, debt structuring, and IRA incentive optimization across their project portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain sophisticated project finance models for utility-scale solar PV, wind, and BESS projects — covering debt sizing, tax equity structures, returns analysis, and sensitivity modeling
- Advise developer clients on optimal capital structures — including tax equity (partnership flip, sale-leaseback, inverted lease), debt (construction, term, back-leverage), and sponsor equity
- Model and optimize IRA incentive stacks — ITC, PTC, domestic content bonus, energy community bonus, low-income community adder, and transferability/direct pay mechanisms
- Conduct financial due diligence and project economics assessments across the development portfolio
- Support developer clients through lender and tax equity investor engagement — preparing financial models, term sheet reviews, and investor presentations
- Track and interpret US renewable energy policy developments — IRA implementation, Treasury guidance, interconnection reform, and state-level incentive programs
- Benchmark project economics and capital market terms across solar, wind, and storage transactions
- Prepare financial reports, investment memos, and advisory presentations for client and internal stakeholders
- Support business development by contributing to proposals and client presentations
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field
- Solid experience in renewable energy project finance — financial modeling, capital structuring, and tax equity for US solar, wind, and/or BESS projects
- Deep understanding of US renewable energy incentive landscape — ITC, PTC, IRA bonus credits, transferability, and direct pay mechanisms
- Hands-on experience with tax equity structures (partnership flip, sale-leaseback, inverted lease) and project debt structuring
- US market experience is required — familiarity with US developer workflows, capital markets, and renewable energy policy
- Strong financial modeling skills — advanced Excel, with experience building ground-up project finance models
- Familiarity with solar, wind, and BESS project economics, revenue streams, and offtake structures (PPA, merchant, capacity)
- Client-facing advisory experience with strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple client engagements simultaneously
