Role
The Senior Analyst – Testing & Automation is responsible for executing functional and regression testing, creating automation‑ready test cases, and supporting automation development and execution across OPMI applications. The role requires a strong foundation in testing fundamentals, structured thinking, and close collaboration with automation engineers, BAs, and developers to ensure high‑quality, reliable releases.
Major DuTIES
Functional & Regression Testing
- Perform functional, regression, rollback, and release sign‑off testing across assigned applications and workstreams.
- Analyze business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to design effective test scenarios.
- Create, review, and maintain clear, detailed, and automation‑ready manual test cases with validations and reusable test data.
- Execute end‑to‑end regression cycles and report test status, risks, and outcomes.
Automation development and Support
- Provide strong functional inputs, edge cases, and validation logic to automation developers.
- Review automation coverage against manual regression scope to ensure completeness.
- Support development and maintenance of automated regression test suites for web and non‑web applications as per release roadmap.
- Support automation execution by:
- Analyzing failures
- Identifying root cause (script issue vs. functional defect)
- Logging and tracking defects accurately
- Reduce automation rework through accurate upfront test design and validation support.
Defect Management & Reporting
- Log, triage, and track defects with clear reproduction steps and expected vs. actual results.
- Work closely with developers and BAs to validate fixes and ensure timely closure.
- Provide regular testing and automation status updates during scrums and review forums.
Process & Documentation
- Maintain test documentation, test evidence, and execution reports in approved tools (e.g., ADO/JIRA).
- Participate in KT sessions related to application functionality, regression scope, and automation strategy.
- Adhere to release governance, testing standards, and audit requirements.

Skills
- Testing Skills (Required)
- Strong understanding of:
- SDLC & STLC
- Manual testing methodologies
- Functional, regression, and UAT testing
- Experience writing structured test cases with clear validations.
- Hands‑on experience with defect management tools (JIRA / ADO or equivalent).
- Automation Exposure (Required / Foundational)
- Understanding or and exposure to automation concepts:
- Web automation (Selenium / Playwright or similar)
- API testing (Postman or equivalent)
- Working knowledge of automation scripting using Python for test automation
- Proficiency in identifying and interacting with web elements using:
- Dynamic XPath
- CSS selectors
- Ability to review automation scripts from a functional perspective.
- Familiarity with test data validation, execution results, and failure analysis.
- API Automation Skills
- Experience or foundational knowledge of API automation and validation using tools such as Postman or API‑based automation frameworks.
- Ability to parse and validate JSON / XML responses, including data comparisons and assertion logic.
- Understanding of end‑to‑end workflow automaton involving backend services and integrations
- Technical & Tooling (Good to Have)
- Understanding of JSON, API request/response validation.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated regression execution.
- Basic SQL or database validation knowledge.
- strong experience in test automation frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, etc.)
- Proficiency in programming languages:
- Python (preferred in your setup)
- Java / JavaScript (secondary)
- Experience in API automation testing (Postman, Rest Assured, PyTest, etc.)
- Understanding of test script optimization, reusability, and scalability
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
- Around 2+ years of work experience related to Regression Testing, Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control of software development projects. 1+ years of experience in test automation is a plus
- Experience working on projects under Scrum/Agile methodology
- Experience with Hedge Funds, Investment Management and/or Financial Services a plus
- Exposure to API testing is a plus
- Should be flexible for shifts and extended working hours
