Senior Analyst - Patent Search (Biotechnology)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned professional with demonstrated expertise in Patent Search and Intelligence. Candidates must possess prior relevant experience in the field, along with domain specialization in Biotechnology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Study / analysis of inventions to determine patentability, Conduct Invalidity and Freedom to Operate searches
• Prepare robust search strategies to search and identify relevant patent and scientific literature in a given technology domain, and subsequent analysis.
• Analysis of a portfolio of patents / patent applications in a given technology domain
• Critical analysis of patents and products to determine potential infringement and licensing opportunities
• Track / monitor published patent applications and issued patents throughout their life cycle
• Identify key features of a product / technology and map these features on to patented subject matter to determine freedom to operate
• Identify and report innovations in a specific technology domain through analysis of patent, product, and academic literature
• Assessment of commercial potential of new technologies vis-Ã -vis existing technologies and market players
• Prepare research reports to be shared with scientists / R&D Managers / technical personnel of the client organization etc.

Core Competencies:

• Advanced Excel skills. VBA expertise is desirable.
• Thorough knowledge in field of technical specialization
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, and willingness to work as part of a team
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to challenge current thinking by implementing new ways of working
• Ability to ensure that tasks within areas of responsibility are completed in a timely and accurate manner
• Ability to identify and adopt proactive ways to contribute to firm's goals & mission
• Well versed in MS Office (knowledge of VBA / Macros will be a plus).
• Attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills
• Quick learner with capability to multi-task
• Drive to achieve targets and accomplish challenging tasks efficiently etc.
• Masters (M. Pharma/ M.S/ M.Tech.) in Biotechnology
• 3-6 years of work experience in the field of Intellectual Property
