How will you make an impact in this role

This role serves as a critical link between ECMX's business strategy and its risk management responsibilities. It ensures compliance and audit readiness while fostering proactive risk ownership, enabling safe innovation and protecting customer trust across Amex's marketing and servicing ecosystem.

Enterprise Communications & MarTech Experiences (ECMX) drives innovative, high-quality servicing and marketing experiences through expert execution of campaigns and servicing communications leveraging modernized capabilities

The Global Business Enablement team is responsible for strengthening risk and control excellence across ECMX by centralizing governance of key activities such as RCSA, Project Guardian, OBR oversight, audit and exam management, operation risk event, and issue management.

The Analyst, ECMX Business Enablement will play a key role in embedding risk management into day-to-day operations. This role requires strong project management and coordination skills to manage multiple workstreams, track progress, and drive timely execution across stakeholders. The analyst will partner with Control Management, Compliance, and ECMX SMEs to manage end-to-end risk and control activities, while leveraging data to generate actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and drive end-to-end lifecycle management for OREs, issues, audit findings, RCSA/PRSA, and control initiatives, ensuring quality and timeliness
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts by planning actions, tracking progress, and assigning tasks using project management tools
  • Provide guidance to SMEs on risk identification, control design, and mitigation strategies across the lifecycle
  • Translate policy and compliance requirements into clear, actionable plans for business teams
  • Partner with stakeholders across business units, functions, and geographies to ensure alignment and execution
  • Develop and deliver consistent leadership reporting, highlighting progress, risks, and actionable insights
  • Perform data analysis to identify trends, themes, and improvement opportunities across issues, incidents, and control testing
  • Support and facilitate risk assessments (RCSA/PRSA) and related testing/QA programs
  • Lead control refresh activities with clear ownership and accountability
  • Drive automation and reporting enhancements to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
  • Leverage structured and unstructured data to identify process gaps and strengthen controls

Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Operational Risk, Issue Management, or Internal Audit (ORE, Issues, BCM, TLM, PRSA/RCSA)
  • Strong project management skills, with experience coordinating multiple initiatives and stakeholders
  • Hands-on experience with project management and workflow tools (e.g., Power Automate, MS Project, Trello, Asana, Monday.com, Airtable) would be preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in Excel and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)
  • Experience working with data using SQL, Python, SAS, or similar tools (including unstructured data)
  • Understanding of risk management frameworks, control environments, and regulatory expectations
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to analyze processes and drive improvements
  • High learning agility, adaptability, and ability to operate in a dynamic environment
