About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Senior AJO Expert to lead the design, orchestration, and optimization of sophisticated cross-channel customer journeys within the Adobe Experience Platform ecosystem. This is an Individual Contributor (IC) role requiring deep technical expertise in Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO), customer journey orchestration, personalization, and omnichannel campaign execution.

The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between marketing strategy and technical implementation while ensuring scalable, high-performing, and data-driven customer experiences across Email, SMS, Push Notifications, and Direct Mail channels.

Key ResponsibilitiesJourney Orchestration
  • Design, configure, and optimize complex multi-step customer journeys using Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO).
  • Implement scalable and high-performing journey workflows for lifecycle and engagement campaigns.
  • Configure event-based triggers, audience qualification events, and API-driven journey executions.
Advanced Personalization & Offer Management
  • Implement Offer Decisioning and Offer Management capabilities for real-time personalized recommendations.
  • Develop advanced personalization logic using Expression Editor (Handlebars/PXP).
  • Create dynamic content experiences tailored to user behavior, profile attributes, and segmentation data.
Omnichannel Campaign Execution
  • Manage and execute campaigns across multiple communication channels including:
  • Email
  • SMS
  • Push Notifications
  • Direct Mail (via third-party integrations)
  • Ensure consistent customer experiences across all touchpoints.
Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) Integration
  • Collaborate with AEP architects and data teams to leverage:
  • Real-time Customer Profiles
  • XDM Schemas
  • Segmentation Services
  • Identity Resolution
  • Work closely with Web/Mobile SDK implementations (Alloy.js) for data collection and activation.
Technical Implementation & Troubleshooting
  • Configure and manage data streams, schemas, datasets, and API integrations within AEP.
  • Troubleshoot journey failures, message delivery issues, and integration bottlenecks.
  • Validate payload structures using JSON and ensure seamless data flow across systems.
Deliverability & Compliance
  • Monitor campaign deliverability and optimize communication performance.
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR, CCPA, consent management, and DULE policies.
  • Maintain governance standards for customer data and communication workflows.
Reporting & Optimization
  • Analyze campaign and journey performance using AJO reporting and Adobe Customer Journey Analytics (CJA).
  • Identify optimization opportunities to improve engagement, conversion, and customer retention metrics.
Required Qualifications
  • 6+ years of overall experience in MarTech, Digital Marketing Technology, or Customer Engagement Platforms.
  • Minimum 3+ years of strong hands-on experience with Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO).
  • Proven expertise in:
  • Adobe Experience Platform (AEP)
  • AJO Journey Orchestration
  • Offer Management / Offer Decisioning
  • XDM Schema Management
  • Audience Segmentation
  • API-triggered Journeys
  • Strong understanding of:
  • HTML/CSS for Email Development
  • JSON payload structures
  • Web & Mobile SDK (Alloy.js)
  • Experience managing large-scale lifecycle campaigns across Email, SMS, and Push channels.
  • Ability to translate business and marketing use cases into technical journey workflows.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) in:
  • Adobe Journey Optimizer
  • Adobe Experience Platform
  • Experience with:
  • Adobe Customer Journey Analytics (CJA)
  • Sandbox migrations and asset deployment
  • Version control and deployment workflows
  • CI/CD processes within Adobe ecosystem
  • Experience with Direct Mail orchestration integrations is a strong plus.
