Job Description

Senior AI / Full-Stack Architect-Developer

Experience Required :12 – 15 Years

Number of Positions :1

Reporting To :Project / Programme Lead, NeGD

Please note this is a Contractual role initially for 3 years

Role Summary

The Senior AI / Full-Stack Architect-Developer will lead the architecture and technical delivery of common, reusable and AI-enabled components for NeGD projects. The role owns end-to-end technical design decisions, mentors the Python/AI Developer(s), and ensures that components built are scalable, secure and reusable across multiple government digital initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end architecture of large-scale, enterprise-grade applications and platforms built for NeGD projects.
  • Design and govern a microservices-based architecture, including service decomposition, API contracts, inter-service communication and deployment topology.
  • Design and oversee database architecture (relational and NoSQL) covering data modelling, performance tuning, scalability and security.
  • Lead hands-on design and implementation of GenAI / AI-enabled capabilities such as LLM integration, RAG pipelines, agentic workflows and intelligent automation within enterprise applications.
  • Architect and build reusable frameworks, shared libraries, common APIs, services and components that can be adopted across multiple NeGD projects to reduce duplication of effort.
  • Define coding standards, design patterns, API guidelines and technical governance for the team.
  • Conduct architecture and code reviews; ensure adherence to security, performance, scalability and compliance requirements applicable to government systems.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders, government departments and other technical teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Mentor and provide technical leadership to the Python/AI Developer(s) and other team members.
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging AI/GenAI tools, platforms and best practices for adoption across NeGD projects.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

  • 12–15 years of strong, demonstrable experience in large-scale enterprise application development.
  • Proven expertise in microservices architecture — design, development, deployment and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong experience in database architecture and development across relational (PostgreSQL/MySQL/Oracle) and/or NoSQL (MongoDB, etc.) systems.
  • Strong, hands-on AI/GenAI implementation experience — not limited to conceptual knowledge (e.g., LLM-based application development, prompt engineering, RAG, vector databases, embeddings, AI agents).
  • Demonstrated experience designing and developing reusable frameworks, APIs, shared services and common components adopted across multiple projects/teams.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or Java, with solid understanding of full-stack development (backend and frontend integration).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of API design (REST/GraphQL), security (OAuth2/JWT), and enterprise integration patterns.

Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills

  • Experience working on e-Governance, public sector or large citizen-facing digital platforms.
  • Familiarity with data privacy, security and compliance frameworks applicable to government IT systems.
  • Exposure to MLOps / LLMOps practices for deploying and monitoring AI models in production.
  • Prior experience in a technical architect, tech lead or solution architect role.

Educational Qualification

B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech/MCA in Computer Science, IT
