Job Description
About The Company
Founders today are building global companies from day one — but the systems that manage their money were built for a different era. Aspire exists to change that!
We're building the financial operating system for global founders, bringing banking, software, and automation into a single platform so businesses can move faster across borders and stay focused on building.
Aspire is built by people who think from first principles, care deeply about solving hard problems, and take real ownership of their work. Our team brings global experience from leading fintech and technology companies, and many of us are former founders and operators who understand what it takes to build thoughtfully, make trade-offs, and deliver at scale in a global environment.
Backed by leading global investors including Y Combinator, Peak XV, and Lightspeed, Aspire has been trusted by more than 50,000 startups and growing businesses worldwide to manage their finances since 2018. Together with partners like J.P. Morgan, Visa, and Wise, we're building for the next generation of global companies.
About The Role
We're hiring a Senior AI Engineer to build LLM powered systems, agents, and internal tools that change how Aspire's engineering teams work. You'll design, ship, and own production AI systems used daily by engineers across the company.
This is a hands-on AI engineering role. You'll work on context retrieval, agent design, evaluation frameworks, and LLM workflows that replace real manual work, and you'll take systems from POC to production.
Where you'll start, and where you'll go

About The Role
We're hiring a Senior AI Engineer to build LLM powered systems, agents, and internal tools that change how Aspire's engineering teams work. You'll design, ship, and own production AI systems used daily by engineers across the company.
This is a hands-on AI engineering role. You'll work on context retrieval, agent design, evaluation frameworks, and LLM workflows that replace real manual work, and you'll take systems from POC to production.
Where you'll start, and where you'll go
- Your first mission is with our Quality Platform, one of the most AI ready problem spaces in our engineering org. We already have an AI merge guardrail live in production, and we're building an LLM pipeline that generates tests directly from product specs. You'll own and scale these systems.
- As the platform matures, you'll move into our broader AI Platform team, building AI tooling and LLM workloads across other teams and engineering workflows. Think of quality as your launchpad, not your ceiling.
- LLM pipelines from spec to code. Build a system that reads product specs, reasons about gaps, and generates automated outputs. You'll own context retrieval across specs and codebases, prompt and agent design, evaluation frameworks, and feedback loops from live results.
- AI agents in CI/CD. Improve and scale an AI guardrail that runs at merge time across all engineering tribes, making it smarter so it fixes problems instead of only blocking them.
- Agentic tooling for engineers. Build agents that explore and verify product flows, synthetic data generation, automated failure classification, and intelligent prioritisation systems.
- AI assisted code review and developer tooling. Build tools that make engineers faster and their output more reliable.
- Security automation from scratch. Design automated checks for our highest risk API endpoints, a MAS Singapore requirement, built ground up.
- The next set of AI platform problems. As you move into the AI Platform team, you'll help decide what we build next and shape the direction of internal AI at Aspire.
- You've shipped AI systems to production. You've built and deployed an LLM application, agent, or developer tool that real people use. You know the failure modes (hallucinations, context limits, evaluation gaps) and how to handle them.
- Strong software engineer first. You write production code, design systems, and build tools other engineers depend on.
- Builder mindset. You fix root causes, not symptoms, and you'd rather build a system than patch a process.
- Ownership. You spot problems, validate them with data, and propose solutions without waiting to be assigned.
- Comfort with ambiguity. You're excited by an evolving roadmap and want to help shape it.
- Strong engineering in Python and/or TypeScript, with experience building production services, internal tools, or developer platforms
- Hands on LLM experience: prompt engineering, RAG or context retrieval, agents and tool use, and output evaluation (shipped side projects and internal tools count)
- Heavy daily use of AI coding tools and agentic workflows
- Experience integrating tooling into CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
- Ability to read and reason about backend code, API contracts, and service boundaries
- 5+ years in software engineering, with experience owning a system or product domain end to end
- Nice to have: understanding of test architecture or Playwright, and familiarity with fintech workflows like payments, KYB/KYC, or transaction processing
- Get hands on with our AI test generation pipeline and merge guardrail
- Challenge at least one existing practice with data and propose a better approach
- Ship a measurable improvement through one of our AI systems
- Start shaping what the AI Platform builds next
