Senior AEM Author

We are seeking a hands-on Website Assembler to build, test, troubleshoot, and publish accessible, responsive, and high-performing web pages across AEM 6.5 and Adobe Edge Delivery Services (EDS)/DA.Live.

The role combines AEM authoring with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills to translate approved designs and manuscripts into production-ready pages, working closely with design, content, development, and QA teams.

Role and Responsibilities

• Assemble, configure, preview, and publish pages using AEM 6.5 and EDS/DA.Live with approved templates, components, blocks, content fragments, and experience fragments.
• Structure document-authored content in DA.Live, SharePoint, or Google Docs using sections, tables, block syntax, and metadata for EDS rendering.
• Apply HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript for component/block styling, decoration, and light interactivity; ensure responsive and cross-browser behaviour.
• Manage AEM DAM assets, renditions, crops, alt text, metadata, licensing tags, and image optimisation.
• Configure page properties, SEO metadata, canonical URLs, redirects, structured data, internal links, navigation, and sitemaps.
• Perform functional, visual, responsive, accessibility, and peer QA against Figma/design specifications; log and retest defects in JIRA or equivalent.
• Debug authoring and rendering issues using browser DevTools, including EDS block decoration, lazy loading, broken references, 404s, and preview/publish discrepancies.
• Run Lighthouse/PageSpeed and Core Web Vitals checks (LCP, CLS, INP) and remediate performance issues.
• Follow preview-review-publish workflows, versioning, rollback, localisation, language/live copies, and content decommissioning procedures.
• Collaborate in Agile/POD delivery, provide status updates, document reusable patterns and known issues, and drive continuous improvement and automation.
• Adhere to brand, design-system, content-governance, quality, SLA, and WCAG 2.2 AA standards.

Essential Skills and Experience

• 6–8 years of experience in AEM web production, page development, or a similar role.
• Strong HTML5, CSS3 (Flexbox, Grid, responsive design), JavaScript ES6+, and working jQuery knowledge.
• Hands-on AEM 6.5 authoring experience; EDS/DA.Live or document-based authoring experience is preferred.
• Understanding of AEM components, policies, DAM, content/experience fragments, and the EDS block model.
• Proficiency with Chrome/Edge DevTools and working knowledge of Lighthouse, Core Web Vitals, and image optimisation.
• Working knowledge of Git/GitHub, branches, pull requests, and AEM preview/live environments.
