Senior Advisory SRE - WebSphere & CPQ Sterling

Responsibilities:

• Assist in WebSphere Application Servers (WAS) & CPQ Sterling maintenance tasks, including upgrades, Fix Pack installation, backups, restores, and performance tuning.
• Monitor system performance and identify potential bottlenecks.
• Assist in the deployment and configuration of WAS and server infrastructure.
• Contribute to the automation of regular support tasks using scripting languages.
• Participate troubleshooting and resolving WAS & CPQ related issues.
• Document Infra configurations and admin procedures.
• Assist in the implementation of security best practices for WAS/IHS/CPQ & other support tools.
• Learn and apply cloud computing concepts (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) if applicable.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of different Middleware components.

Required Skills:

• Able to understand the existing complex WebSphere landscape and suggest enhancements and simplifications
• Basic understanding of Middleware Application Servers (WAS) & concepts (e.g., 3-tier architecture).
• Experience working on LINUX / AIX / WINDOWS operating systems.
• Middleware Infra component minoring, patching and trouble shooting.
• Basic scripting skills (e.g., Ansible, Python, PowerShell).
• Understanding of networking concepts.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipeline (i.e. Git, Jenkins etc..) for automation.
• Working knowledge on monitoring tools such as Grafana, AppDynamics, Splunk, Dynatrace, LogicMonitor etc..
