The Admission Counselor serves as a key representative of the institution, responsible for recruiting, evaluating, and enrolling prospective students. This role involves outreach, application review, student advising, and collaboration across departments to support enrollment goals and deliver an excellent prospective student experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit prospective students through high schools, college fairs, virtual events, campus visits, and outreach campaigns
- Counsel prospective students and families on admissions requirements, academic programs, and enrollment processes
- Review and evaluate applications for admission in accordance with institutional policies
- Maintain consistent communication via email, phone, text, and CRM systems
- Plan and conduct information sessions, campus tours, and recruitment events
- Manage an assigned recruitment territory or population
- Collaborate with marketing, financial aid, and academic departments to support enrollment efforts
- Track and report recruitment activity, applicant progress, and enrollment data
- Stay informed on admissions trends, policies, and competitor institutions
- Represent the institution professionally at on- and off-campus events
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (required)
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with CRM systems, databases, and Microsoft/Google tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in admissions, recruitment, counseling, or student services
- Master's degree in Higher Education, Counseling, or related field
- Experience with Slate, Banner, Salesforce, or similar CRM platforms
