Bright has launched an AI money assistant and AI agentic UX flows for access to credit. It will be the first AI-driven Consumer FinTech for middle-income consumers.

Bright was founded in 2019 by a founding team from McKinsey's Banking Practice (Petko Plachkov and Avi Patchava) and InMobi Data Scientists (Varun Modi and Avi Patchava). The core team is ex-InMobi Engineering and Data Sciences, recently joined by senior leaders from McKinsey. Bright is a data-driven, fast-paced execution culture that will build a Global Consumer FinTech, all functions operating from India.

What is the team & role about

Bright Money is looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accounts Executive to join our Finance team. The role is responsible for day-to-day accounting operations across our India and US entities, ensuring books are accurate, reconciliations are timely, and statutory filings are filed without slippage.

What you will do

• Review and maintain day-to-day books of accounts in Tally and QuickBooks; supervise routine operational activities and resolve issues.
• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory filings in India and the US (GST, TDS, PT, PF, ESI, sales tax, etc.) within prescribed timelines.
• Perform analytical reviews of financial documentation; produce statements for management on accounting status and discrepancies.
• Conduct record reviews and assessments to verify financial documentation; produce financial statement reports and document audit processes and balances.
• Identify accounting issues, reconcile accounts, and propose solutions.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, vendor reconciliations, and inter-company transactions.
• Review all inter-company transactions and generate invoices as necessary.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure clean schedules each close.
• Manage MIS reporting and share details with the Senior Manager – Finance on a regular basis.
• Support internal, statutory, and tax auditors with required schedules, evidence, and explanations.

Ideal candidate profile looks like

Experience & Background:

• Hands-on experience with Tally and QuickBooks (independent working experience in QuickBooks is mandatory)
• Working knowledge of Indian GAAP / Ind AS
• Strong understanding of GST, TDS, and statutory compliance in India
• Advanced Excel skills (pivots, lookups, reconciliation models)
• Review and maintain day-to-day books of accounts in Tally and QuickBooks
• Perform analytical reviews of financial documentation
• Conduct record reviews and assessments to verify financial documentation
• Identify accounting issues, reconcile accounts, and propose solutions
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, vendor reconciliations, and inter-company transactions
• Manage MIS reporting
• Support internal, statutory, and tax auditors
• High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and sound independent judgement
• Ability to prioritize, manage time well, stay organized, and adjust focus as needs change
• Good communication and negotiation skills
• Excellent team player with a positive, collaborative attitude

Preferred Skills:

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience
• CA Inter or M.Com preferred
• Experience in a fintech, NBFC, or fast-paced product company
• Exposure to US GAAP
• Experience working with vendors, banks, and auditors
• Eager to learn and implement AI tools in finance and accounting workflows
• Quick learner who thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment
