Job Description: Senior Accountant – US Client Accounting

Work Mode: Full-time, Work From Office (WFO)

Working Hours: 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM US Eastern Time (ET), with occasional extensions as required

Expected Joining: Within 2–3 weeks, subject to notice period

About BSG & Co.

BSG & Co. provides offshore accounting and assurance services to accounting firms and businesses in the US, Canada, and other international markets.

We are looking for a qualified and experienced accounting professional to join our team at our Diamond Arcade, Satgachi office in Kolkata. The candidate will work directly with a US-based client and take ownership of end-to-end accounting activities, financial reporting, and specialized accounting tasks.

This is a senior, client-facing accounting role, not a routine bookkeeping position.

Mandatory Requirements

Candidates must meet all the following criteria:

1. Professional qualification: US CPA, Indian Chartered Accountant (CA), Indian Cost and Management Accountant (CMA), or an equivalent recognized professional accounting qualification.

2. US client experience: Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience working with US clients.

3. End-to-end accounting: Ability to independently manage the complete accounting cycle, from transaction recording through reconciliations, month-end closing, and financial statement preparation.

4. QuickBooks Online (QBO): Strong practical knowledge and hands-on experience.

5. QuickBooks Desktop (QBD): Strong practical knowledge and hands-on experience.

6. Job costing: Practical experience in job costing, cost allocation, and job-level profitability analysis.

7. English communication: Good spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate professionally with US clients.

8. Work schedule: Willingness to work the specified US Eastern Time schedule, including occasional extensions.

9. Work location: Must be willing to work full-time from our office at Diamond Arcade, Satgachi, Kolkata.

Key Responsibilities

Independently manage end-to-end accounting for US clients.
Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and accounting records.
Perform bank, credit card, balance sheet, and other account reconciliations.
Handle month-end closing and prepare financial statements and management reports.
Perform job costing, cost allocation, and profitability analysis.
Handle escrow accounting and related reconciliations.
Account for aircraft purchases and sales, maintaining appropriate transaction records and supporting documentation.
Work confidently with both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop.
Investigate discrepancies and resolve accounting issues independently.
Communicate directly with the client through email, calls, and WhatsApp.
Provide timely updates and maintain high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and client service.

Preferred Experience

Hands-on experience handling escrow accounts.
Experience accounting for aircraft purchases and sales.
Strong financial reporting and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
