Job Profile: Senior Accountant

Location: Gurgaon (Hybrid), India

Employment Type: Full-Time, EMEA Time (1:30 PM - 10 PM)

Preferred experience: - 2-5 years

The Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will support day-to-day accounting operations, including purchase ledger management, invoice processing, bank reconciliations, and finance administration. This role requires strong organizational skills, accuracy, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities:

Purchase Ledger & Invoice Processing

·       Process supplier invoices accurately and within agreed timelines.

·       Match invoices with purchase orders and delivery notes where applicable.

·       Ensure correct coding and allocation of invoices within the accounting system.

·       Assist with supplier statement reconciliations and resolve invoice-related queries.

·       Prepare supplier payment runs for approval.

 

Bank Reconciliations

·       Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations.

·       Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.

·       Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and allocated.

 

Central Mailbox Management

  • Manage the finance/accounts email inbox efficiently.
  • Respond to internal and external queries in a professional manner.
  • Prioritize incoming requests and escalate issues when required.
  • Maintain organized records and correspondence.

 

General Finance Support

  • Assist with month-end accounting activities.
  • Support the finance team with ad hoc administrative tasks.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems.
  • Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiencies within the finance function.

 

Must - Have Qualifications:

·       Minimum 2 years of experience as an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, or similar accounting role.

·       Education - CA Inter

·       Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Prior experience with IFRS and Indian Standards

·       Strong organizational and time-management skills.

·       Effective written and verbal communication skills.

·       Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

·       Experience using Xero accounting software.

·       Experience working in a high-volume finance environment.

·       Understanding of basic accounting principles and financial processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

·       Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

·       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
