What is the role:

This position is with Numera, and we are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Controller to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions. A successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts effectively. The ideal candidate is dynamic, committed, and experienced in collaborating with or managing a team of bookkeepers. The role also involves ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all accounting tasks.

What you would do:

● Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts

● Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results

● Analyze financial information and summarize financial status

● Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending

● Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures

● Manage accounting assistants and bookkeepers

● Prepare financial statements

● Assist with tax audits and tax returns

● Plan, assign, and review staff's work

● Support the month-end and year-end close process

● Develop and document business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls

● Ensure compliance with US GAAP principles

● Liaise with our Financial Controllers to improve financial procedures Delivery management:

● Proven experience as an accountant.

● Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures

● In-depth understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (USGAAP)

● Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process

● Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like Xero and QuickBooks

● Advanced MS Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables

● Accuracy and attention to detail

● Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills

Skills and Qualifications:

● Degree in Accounting or Finance

● Relevant certification (e.g., CMA or CPA) will be preferred.

● General computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, etc.)

● Accounting tools: Should be familiar with accounting software packages, like Xero, QuickBooks

● Strong communication and presentation skills

● Must be able to demonstrate multitasking capacity

● Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

● Must be highly organized in document management with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

● Must be responsible, reliable, a great team player, and positive under any circumstance
