Senior Accountant

Role Description The Senior Accountant will manage the full spectrum of accounting activities for Muttaz Arabic Chocolate Cafe, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining general ledgers, overseeing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. The role also involves monitoring cash flow, managing inventory-related accounting, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory requirements. The Senior Accountant will collaborate with management to provide financial insights, support cost control initiatives, and help implement internal controls and accounting best practices. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Trivandrum.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in core accounting principles, including general ledger management, financial statements, and reconciliations.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow management in a small or medium-sized business environment.
• Proficiency with accounting software Tally and spreadsheets, and the ability to analyze financial data and present clear reports to management.
• Knowledge of local tax regulations, compliance requirements, and audit support processes.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with operations and leadership teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (such as CA, CMA, or equivalent) are an advantage.
• Prior experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role, preferably in the hospitality, retail, or food and beverage sector.
