Senior Accountant

LyftOff is hiring a Senior Accounts Manager to lead client accounts within our US accounting division. You'll be the face of LyftOff to a portfolio of US clients - owning the relationship, reviewing the quality of work delivered by your team, and making sure everything we ship is sharp, accurate, and on time.

We're building an AI-native outsourcing business - rethinking how offshore finance work gets done. You'll work directly with the founders, alongside another senior accountant on the US side, and lead a small offshore team beneath you.

Client relationships

• Be the day-to-day point of contact for a portfolio of US clients
• Run weekly check-ins, monthly reviews, and ad-hoc calls with confidence and clarity
• Onboard new clients, understand their books and business deeply, and translate their needs to the team
• Handle escalations, questions, and the occasional difficult conversation with poise

Quality and delivery

• Review work prepared by your offshore team — bookkeeping, reconciliations, month-end close, financial reports
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to US GAAP standards
• Catch mistakes before they reach the client, and use them as learning moments for the team

Team management

• Lead, coach, and grow a small offshore team
• Set the bar for quality and help your team meet it consistently
• Build SOPs and playbooks as you find what works

Working with AI

• Use AI tools daily to research, draft, analyse, summarise, and accelerate your work
• Help define how AI is embedded into our delivery workflow
• Stay curious about new tools and what they make possible

Learning the business of finance

• Go beyond bookkeeping — develop expertise in cash flow analysis, budgeting, financial reporting, and advisory conversations
• Bring commercial awareness to client conversations, not just technical accuracy
  

Experience

• 3–4 years of accounting experience, ideally with exposure to US accounting (GAAP, QuickBooks Online, US tax basics)
• Hands-on with QuickBooks Online; familiarity with Xero, Bill.com, Gusto, or similar tools is a plus
• Comfortable reviewing work and managing a small team

Qualifications

• Strong accounting fundamentals are non-negotiable
• CA, CPA, ACCA — qualified, semi-qualified, or aspirants are all welcome
• Open to candidates without formal certification if accounting fundamentals are solid and demonstrable
• Skills matter more than credentials

Communication

• Exceptional spoken and written English — this is essential
• Comfortable on calls with US clients; clear, warm, and confident
• Able to translate technical accounting language into plain business language

Mindset

• Genuinely curious about business finance, not just accounting mechanics
• Loves research and digging into problems until they're understood
• Enthusiastic about AI tools and what they unlock
• Detail-oriented without losing sight of the bigger picture
