Job Summary We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage plant-level accounting, financial reporting, and compliance for our water plant. The role involves handling day-to-day accounting operations, inventory accounting, taxation, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring accurate financial records and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities Financial Accounting & Reporting Manage day-to-day accounting operations including journal entries, ledger scrutiny, and reconciliations Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Ensure accurate cost allocation and expense tracking for plant operations Inventory & Costing Handle inventory accounting including raw materials, packaging, and finished goods Monitor stock movement, wastage, and reconciliation with stores/production Support costing analysis and help control production costs Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversee vendor payments, invoice processing, and reconciliations Monitor receivables and customer collections Ensure proper documentation and approval processes Statutory Compliance & Taxation Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory requirements Prepare and file GST returns, TDS returns, and reconciliations Support tax audits and assessments Audit & Internal Controls Assist in statutory, internal, and tax audits Maintain proper documentation and audit trails Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies MIS & Reporting Prepare MIS reports, variance analysis, and financial dashboards Provide insights to management on cost control and efficiency improvement Coordination & Support Coordinate with plant operations, procurement, and finance teams Liaise with external auditors, consultants, and banks Key Requirements B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter (CA preferred but not mandatory) 4-8 years of experience in manufacturing / plant accounting (water plant preferred) Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, and accounting principles Experience in inventory accounting and cost control Proficiency in Tally / SAP / ERP systems and MS Excel Good understanding of financial reporting and compliance Strong attention to detail and analytical skills Preferred Skills Experience in water treatment / FMCG / bottling industry Exposure to factory accounting and stock audits Ability to work in a fast-paced plant environment Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Accuracy of financial records Timely closure of books Compliance adherence (GST, TDS filings) Inventory reconciliation accuracy Audit observations & closure
