Senior Accountant (Stock & Inventory Management)

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to lead our inventory accounting and stock management operations. The ideal candidate will have mastery over Tally Prime/ERP 9 and a proven track record of maintaining high levels of accuracy in high-volume stock environments. You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of inventory, from procurement recording to final reconciliation and valuation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Stock & Inventory Management (Tally Mastery)
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date stock records in Tally, including the creation and management of Stock Groups, Categories, and Godowns.
- Manage complex inventory transactions, including Purchase Orders (PO), Receipt Notes (GRN), Rejections Out, and Stock Journals.
- Implement and oversee Bill of Materials (BOM) for manufacturing or assembly processes to ensure accurate raw material consumption.
- Monitor stock aging and provide regular reports on slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
2. Financial Accounting & Compliance
- Supervise the daily entry of purchase and sales invoices, ensuring correct GST classification and input tax credit (ITC) reconciliation.
- Perform monthly physical stock verification and reconcile variances between physical counts and Tally records.
- Calculate and monitor landed costs of inventory, including freight, customs, and handling charges.
- Prepare monthly profitability reports based on stock valuation (FIFO/Weighted Average).
3. Internal Controls & Reporting
- Establish and maintain rigorous internal controls for stock inward/outward movements.
- Generate and analyze Stock Summary reports, Movement Analysis, and Reorder Level alerts to optimize procurement.
- Liaise with the warehouse and production teams to ensure documentation (Delivery Challans, Gate Passes) matches digital entries.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of core accounting experience, with at least 3 years focused on inventory/stock management.
- Software: Advanced proficiency in Tally Prime/ERP 9 (specifically Inventory Vouchers and Manufacturing modules) and MS Excel (VLookup, Pivot Tables).
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce (B.Com/M.Com) or related field.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of GST regulations related to E-way bills, HSN codes, and inventory valuation standards.
- Attributes: Strong analytical skills, a high degree of integrity, and the ability to work under month-end pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in the Telecommunications, Electronics, or Manufacturing sector.
- Familiarity with SMT (Surface Mount Technology) component accounting or specialized hardware inventory.
