Accountant manages a company's financial health by recording, analyzing, and reporting financial data, ensuring accuracy, compliance with laws (GAAP, tax), and providing insights for strategic decisions, with duties including bank reconciliation, budgeting, payroll, auditing, tax preparation, and financial forecasting. They use accounting software to maintain ledgers, prepare statements (P&L, Balance Sheet), and advise management on cost savings and profit enhancement.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.Data Management: Accurately record transactions, maintain the general ledger, and reconcile bank accounts.Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop budgets, monitor expenses, and forecast financial performance.Compliance & Tax: Ensure adherence to financial regulations, compute taxes, and prepare tax returns.Analysis & Advice: Analyze financial data to identify risks, suggest cost-saving strategies, and support management decisions.Audit Support: Conduct internal audits and provide documentation for external audits.Payroll: Process payroll, review invoices, and manage accounts payable/receivable.
