Job Description

About the Role

NorthStar Insights is looking for a Senior Executive to join our Foresight function. This is a data-first role built around performance marketing intelligence, media monitoring, and reporting — designed to ensure our clients receive consistent, high-quality insight that sharpens their judgement and feeds directly into communications strategy.

You will sit at the centre of client delivery, translating raw data into clear, actionable narratives. Working closely with our design team, you will ensure that every piece of reporting is not only accurate but visually compelling and easy to act on. Over time, you will deepen your understanding of each client's operating environment and become a meaningful contributor to the strategic thinking that underpins our work.

This is not a business development role. It is focused entirely on the rigour, consistency, and quality of the insight we deliver to the clients we serve.

Key Responsibilities

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Own end-to-end media monitoring and reporting workflows for an assigned portfolio of clients, ensuring consistency in cadence, format, and quality.
  • Track and analyse performance marketing metrics, media coverage, and sentiment across relevant channels, flagging patterns, risks, and opportunities as they emerge.
  • Produce regular and ad hoc reports — campaign performance summaries, media intelligence briefings, competitive landscape reviews — to established quality standards and timelines.

Data Visualisation & Design Collaboration

  • Work in close partnership with the design team to translate data into polished, client-ready visual formats including dashboards, infographics, and presentation decks.
  • Ensure that all data outputs are accurate, clearly labelled, and structured in a way that supports quick comprehension and informed decision-making.
  • Continuously refine reporting templates and visual frameworks to improve clarity and client experience over time.

Strategic Contribution

  • Develop a deep working knowledge of each client's sector, communications objectives, and stakeholder landscape.
  • Surface data-driven observations and recommendations that contribute meaningfully to the strategic direction set by account and advisory teams.
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and benchmarks in the data that can strengthen client counsel and inform forward-looking communications planning.

Quality & Process

  • Maintain and improve internal processes for data collection, validation, and reporting to ensure reliability and scalability.
  • Stay current with tools, platforms, and methodologies in media intelligence, social listening, and performance analytics.
  • Support the wider team by sharing best practices, building reusable frameworks, and contributing to internal knowledge resources.

Annual Compensation

The final package will be determined based on the candidate's hands-on experience with monitoring and reporting tools, quality of analytical thinking, and ability to work independently across multiple client portfolios. The compensation structure may include a fixed base salary along with a performance-linked component.

What We're Looking For

  • Approximately three years of experience in performance marketing, media monitoring, reporting, or a related analytics function within a PR, communications, or media intelligence environment.
  • Strong proficiency with media monitoring platforms, social listening tools, and analytics dashboards (e.g., Meltwater, Cision, Sprinklr, Google Analytics, or equivalent).
  • A sharp analytical mindset with the ability to move beyond data presentation to genuine insight and interpretation.
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly around data accuracy and consistency in client-facing materials.
  • A collaborative working style and comfort partnering closely with design and creative teams.
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to distil complex data into concise, clear narratives for senior audiences.
  • Intellectual curiosity about the sectors and organisations our clients operate in, and a genuine interest in how data can improve communications strategy.
