Job Summary
The Business Director leads client relationships, drives business growth, and ensures the successful delivery of integrated advertising solutions. This role oversees key accounts, manages cross-functional teams, and contributes to the agency's strategic direction while meeting revenue and profitability targets.
Key Responsibilities
Client & Account Leadership
- Serve as the primary strategic partner for major clients, ensuring strong relationships and long-term retention.
- Understand client business objectives and market challenges to propose effective advertising strategies.
- Oversee planning and execution of campaigns across digital, ATL, BTL, and integrated channels.
- Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality work that meets client expectations and business goals.
Business Growth & Strategy
- Identify opportunities for account growth, upselling, and cross-selling agency services.
- Lead pitches, presentations, and proposal development for new and existing clients.
- Develop annual account plans, revenue forecasts, and growth roadmaps.
- Monitor industry trends to advise clients on market opportunities and innovative solutions.
Team & Project Management
- Lead and mentor account directors, managers, and project teams to ensure efficient workflow.
- Oversee resource allocation, timelines, and budgets across accounts.
- Foster collaboration between creative, strategy, media, and production teams.
- Establish best practices and ensure smooth operations across all accounts.
Financial Management
- Own the P&L for assigned accounts; ensure profitability and financial health.
- Review cost estimates, manage billing cycles, and track revenue targets.
- Optimize account efficiency and manage scope to avoid overservicing.
Agency Leadership
- Contribute to agency-level business strategy and long-term growth planning.
- Represent the agency at events, conferences, and industry forums.
- Strengthen internal processes and improve overall service quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
- 812+ years of experience in an advertising agency, with at least 35 years in a senior leadership role.
- Strong understanding of integrated marketing, digital advertising, and brand strategy.
- Proven experience managing large accounts and leading multi-disciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to think strategically while overseeing day-to-day operations.
- Strong financial acumen and experience handling P&L.
