Title: Senior ABAP & Fiori Consultant
Location: Bangalore, India
Schedule: Hybrid: onsite 2-3 times/week
Duration: 3-6 Month Contract to hire
Pay Rate: $30/hour
Job Overview
We are looking for a senior SAP ABAP & Fiori consultant with strong ECC experience and S/4HANA exposure who can actively participate in design discussions and contribute ideas for ECC to S/4HANA transition, while remaining handson with development.
This role is not architectonly. The consultant is expected to code, debug, and support solutions, but also bring design thinking, challenge approaches, and help guide teams toward S/4ready solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design & S/4HANA Transition Contribution (Senior Expectation)
- Participate in technical design discussions and solution reviews.
- Provide practical recommendations for making custom developments S/4HANAready.
- Identify ECC custom logic that may not fit S/4HANA and suggest remediation or redesign options.
- Contribute ideas on what to keep, redesign, or retire during S/4 transition.
- Act as a senior technical voice in collaboration with architects and functional leads.
HandsOn ABAP Development
- Design, develop, and support ABAP solutions in ECC and S/4HANA, including:
- Reports (ALV / OO ALV)
- Enhancements (BADIs, User Exits, Implicit/Explicit Enhancements)
- Function Modules and Classes
- Interfaces and background jobs
- Perform deep debugging and production issue resolution.
Embedded Fiori & OData
- Design and build embedded SAP Fiori applications.
- Develop and enhance OData services (SEGW / CDSbased).
- Perform handson SAPUI5 development (controllers, views, fragments).
- Provide guidance on Fiori best practices and performance considerations.
WM / Supply Chain / OTC Technical Delivery
- Deliver and support technical solutions in:
- Warehouse Management (WM)
- Supply Chain execution
- OrdertoCash (OTC)
- Support integrations and endtoend process flows with an S/4 mindset.
Collaboration & Mentoring
- Work closely with functional, BASIS, security, and integration teams.
- Mentor junior developers on design thinking and S/4 considerations.
- Participate in code and design reviews with a futurestate focus.
Mandatory Skills
- 15+ years of SAP handson technical experience
- Strong expertise in SAP ABAP (ECC and S/4HANA)
- Handson experience with embedded SAP Fiori
- Strong experience in WM / Supply Chain / OTC
- OData service development and SAPUI5 frontend exposure
- Ability to participate in design discussions and influence decisions
- ECC S/4HANA conversion or foundation project experience
- Exposure to CDS views, performance optimization, or cleancore concepts
- Experience working in dual ECC + S/4 landscapes
- Prior lead or senior consultant role with design responsibility
- Are seniorlevel consultants, not midlevel developers
- Can code and debug independently
- Have real ECC experience plus S/4HANA exposure
- Can contribute ideas, not just execute tasks
- Understand longterm S/4HANA impact of technical decisions
