Senior 3D Animator

Role Description The 3D Animator internship role at Nexenova Studios is an on-site position based in Noida. The intern will assist in creating and refining character and object animations for in-game use, working closely with artists, designers, and developers to bring concepts to life. Day-to-day tasks may include setting up rigs, integrating motion capture data, animating characters and environmental elements, and iterating on feedback from the art and design teams. The intern will also support basic asset preparation in tools such as Blender, help maintain animation pipelines, and document workflows to ensure consistency across projects.

Qualifications

• Hands-on 3D animation experience, ideally on shipped games or interactive projects.
• Strong grasp of animation fundamentals — timing, weight, spacing, anticipation, and squash-and-stretch — with an eye for appealing, readable motion.
• Expert-level proficiency in at least one primary 3D tool (Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, or MotionBuilder).
• Experience animating both characters and objects/environments, from keyframe blockout to final polish.
• Working knowledge of a real-time game engine (Unity or Unreal), including how animations are set up, triggered, and optimized in-engine.
• Understanding of game-ready asset workflows — clean rigs, efficient bone counts, and animations built to perform well on mobile hardware.
• A demo reel or portfolio showing your own game or gameplay animation (loops, actions, character or object motion). A strong reel matters more than years on paper.
• Ability to work in a small, fast-moving team, take feedback well, and hit production deadlines.

Preferred

• Educational Background: Relevant formal education, degree, or training in animation, game art, or a related technical field.
• Expanded Software Familiarity: While mastery is only required in two primary tools, general working experience across the wider software ecosystem mentioned (Spine, Blender, Maya, Adobe, etc.) is highly valued.
• Familiarity with 2D animation or motion tools (Spine, Rive, After Effects) for hybrid 2D/3D pipelines.
