The Seed Technology Intern supports seed technology operations by helping with trials, record keeping, and following standard procedures. The intern also assists in developing and testing and implementing protocols in order to improve seed quality.
Primary Roles:
- Execute assigned studies (in the laboratory, processing plant, greenhouse or field) related to value-addition and seed enhancement to seed via seed coating technology, seed processing technology and seed physiology.
- Ensures that all planned/ assigned activities/projects are carried out as per defined timeline.
- Ensures that all pertinent trial information is timely and properly consolidated in the department's experiment database.
- Statistically analyzes results, draws conclusions and generates recommendations from completed experiments/studies.
- Prepares and submits timely and accurate updates or reports
- Contribute to the effective management and administration of the Department/work unit by performing duties allocated.
- Ensure to produce high quality trials results as per testing protocols.
- Contribute to organizing resources and effective decision making in support of research activities.
- Assist in communicating results to internal or external stakeholders, whenever assigned
- Keeps neat and organized facilities and files.
Minimum Requirements
- BSc in Agriculture or BSc in allied science.
- Physically capable of handling the required field, greenhouse and laboratory experimental requirements.
- Competent in understanding and preparing scientific protocols
- Capable of discussing protocols and results with peers/colleagues
- Capable of effectively communicating results with internal and external stakeholders
Skills & Knowledge:
- Computer literate; Google Workspace: Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendars
- Technical writing and result presentation
- Statistical skills and knowledge on Experimentation Techniques
