Job Description
Position: Security Officer
Location: Kadur, Karnataka
Reporting To: CSO / GM
Site Size: Approximately 180 Acres
To safeguard and manage the security of 180 acres of land in Kadur through effective security supervision, coordination with local authorities, and proactive risk management to prevent encroachment, theft, and unauthorized activities.
- Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Security & Guard Management
- Deploy and supervise guards: Plan duty rosters, shifts, and patrol routes for all security guards across 180 acres.
- Conduct daily briefings: Assign posts, share intelligence, and check turnout/grooming of guards.
- Perimeter checks: Ensure fencing, gates, and boundary stones are intact. Report and fix breaches immediately.
- Access Control: Maintain visitor, vehicle, and material in-out registers. Verify identity before allowing entry.
- Night vigilance: Schedule random night rounds and ensure proper lighting/torch availability at key points.
- Incident reporting: Document trespassing, theft, fire, or encroachment attempts with photos, time, and action taken.
- Liaison & Government Coordination
- Coordinate with Police, Panchayat, CHESCOM, Revenue & Survey, and Forest & Agriculture Departments for land records, approvals, security matters, surveys, and resolution of local issues to ensure smooth site operations and compliance.
- Community Relations
- Maintain cordial relations with neighboring farmers and landowners to avoid boundary disputes.
- Monitor labor movement and prevent unauthorized grazing, wood cutting, or dumping.
- Conflict resolution: Mediate minor issues before they escalate. Inform management of sensitive matters.
- CSR support: Help organize village meetings if management plans local development work.
- Administration & Compliance
- Maintain attendance records, patrol logs, incident reports, and liaison records.
- Ensure protection of all site assets including pumps, pipelines, buildings, and solar installations.
- Act as first responder for fire, snake bites, medical, or law & order situations. Keep emergency numbers handy.
- Ensure guards follow PF/ESI, wage rules, and PSARA guidelines if agency-based.
- Required Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in security operations, preferably in estates or industrial land.
- Ex-servicemen preferred.
- Knowledge of Kannada and Hindi with understanding of Karnataka land laws, IPC basics, and local body structure.
- Man management, negotiation, report writing, basic MS Excel/WhatsApp for reporting.
- Basic computer and mobile reporting knowledge.
- Physically fit and willing to stay near the site.
- Valid two-wheeler/four-wheeler driving license preferred.
