Security & Intelligence Analyst (Assistant to Chief Security Officer)

Role Overview

This role reports to the Chief Security Officer of CMA CGM and is part of the Group Security &Intelligence team. The position involves daily monitoring of regional and national developments in security, politics, economics and society, conducting open‑source research, and preparing synthesis notes, monthly reports and specific analytical studies. You will contribute to economic intelligence deliverables, build and maintain relationships with institutional partners, and participate in relevant seminars and conferences, working closely with both head‑office and agency teams.

To perform effectively in this role, you should have strong knowledge of geopolitics, international relations and security issues, strong analytical and synthesis skills, and be confident using standard office software and digital research tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor regional and national news on a daily basis, primarily in security, and also in the political, economic and social domains.
• Prepare synthesis notes, monthly activity reports and specific analytical studies based on collected information.
• Conduct open‑source research using a range of digital tools and information sources.
• Contribute to the production of economic intelligence deliverables for internal stakeholders.
• Work within the Group Security & Intelligence organisation, liaising with both head‑office and agency teams.
• Build and maintain a network of institutional partners and relevant contacts.
• Participate in seminars and conferences to stay updated on key security, geopolitical and economic topics.

What We're Looking For

• Relevant experience in international relations analysis or within a security‑related function.
• Degree in international relations, political science, security studies, economics, or a related discipline (a background in economic intelligence or similar fields is an advantage).
• Strong knowledge of geopolitics and international relations, with good understanding of economic, social and security issues.
• Strong written communication skills in English, with the ability to prepare clear and structured reports proficiency in French is an advantage, as you will occasionally liaise with French‑speaking stakeholders and headquarters.
• Proven ability to analyse and synthesise complex information.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and to manage projects or work streams independently.
• Confident user of standard office software and digital tools for research and information processing.
• Demonstrated intellectual curiosity, sound general knowledge, and a rigorous, responsive working style.
