Role: Security Engineer

Location: Remote (India)

Our client, DTG, needs resource[s] to help staff a support engagement for one of our larger clients. At a high-level, the software to be supported is Opentext / NuBridges:

NuProtect in Iseries

Note: Code was developed and is maintained as a part of current agreement with OpenKey.

We prefer that the resources be offshore; however, we're more than willing to look at domestic resources.

An expanded job description:

Administer and support OpenText key management platforms, including configuration, patching, upgrades, and integration with applications, databases, and services

Manage the full lifecycle of cryptographic keys (generation, activation, rotation, archival, deactivation, and destruction) in line with company security policies and NIST key management recommendations (for example, SP 800-57)

Monitor key management services for availability, performance, and security events, and respond to incidents and alerts to maintain reliable encryption services

Work with security, infrastructure, and application teams to design and implement secure key usage patterns, ensuring developers and users do not directly handle or store encryption keys.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to key retrieval, access failures, integration errors, and performance, including on-call or after-hours support where required

Document configurations, procedures, and runbooks for key management operations and provide knowledge transfer or training to internal teams

Participate in security audits and compliance activities by providing evidence of proper key management controls, logging, and reporting

Contribute to continuous improvement of key management processes, including automation, standardization, and best-practice enforcement.

Required qualifications

Information Security, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.

Hands-on experience with OpenText security or content platforms, such as NuBridges, Voltage SecureData or other OpenText encryption/key management tools, or similar enterprise key management/HSM solutions.

Strong understanding of encryption concepts (symmetric/asymmetric keys, key derivation, key rotation, key wrapping) and secure key lifecycle management practices.

Experience supporting enterprise applications in a production environment (Linux/Windows servers, networking basics, certificates, TLS)

Scripting skills (for example, PowerShell, Bash, or Python) to automate operational tasks and integrations.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and the ability to work with cross-functional security, application, and infrastructure teams.

Preferred qualifications

Experience with NIST, PCI DSS, or similar security and compliance frameworks related to cryptographic key management

Familiarity with HSMs, cloud KMS (for example, AWS KMS, Azure Key Vault, GCP KMS), or other enterprise key management products.

Experience with REST APIs and integrating applications with centralized key management and encryption services

Prior experience in a vendor or enterprise support role (Premium Support / Customer Success / Technical Support Engineer) for security or OpenText products.
