Job Description

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced professional with 12-15 years of demonstrated expertise in asset-backed lending (ABL), preferably US clients. The ideal candidate must be a postgraduate and must have a robust understanding of ABL credit risk assessment and collateral management. Candidate will lead/build large teams working on asset-backed lending transactions, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks and internal risk policies.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Franchise and business development

·       Liaise with top tier large and regional banks with the aim of generating new business in the ABL space

·       Liaise with business heads and business development team to identify opportunities and drive market outreach for ABL offerings for commercial lending clients

·       Develop an account plan for identified target clients including insights on relevant businesses and their key decision makers 

·       Work closely with the members of the sales team on proposals, Requests for Proposal and Request for Information responses

·       Take initiatives towards franchise development to demonstrate Crisil's domain leadership (in white papers, point of view notes, webinars, etc.)

Client Engagement

·       As a subject matter expert in the ABL space, lead customer facing meetings

·       Responsible for understanding customer needs in ABL risk assessment and portfolio monitoring

·       Determine business and methodological requirements and architect solutions based on each client use case and Crisil's product/service suite

·       Engage in new client pilots, solution and review processes for new opportunities

·       Develop, maintain and foster strong client relationships and lead multiple client engagements independently

·       Document market feedback regarding experience with Crisil's solutions and desired enhancements; actively manage client relationships and drive Net Promotor Scores and CSATs for CRISIL

Project and team management

·       Lead/build large teams of analysts working on Asset Backed Lending (ABL) portfolio for US bank.

·       Hands on experience of working on detailed credit assessment reports including business & management analysis, financial spreading/modelling, borrowing base calculations (excess availability analysis, debtors aging analysis), availability tracking, collateral assessment (eligibility review), covenant monitoring, trend cards preparation, obligor risk grading and site evaluation.

·       Undertake quality underwriting/reviewing of outputs prepared by the team

·       Ensure robust governance and oversight through appropriate workflow planning, resource utilization, quality assurance and client satisfaction

·       Attract, develop and retain top quality staff to ensure a robust pipeline of talent

·       Ensure adequate training of team members to make a deployment ready pool

 Essential Skills & Qualifications Required

·       MBA/CA/CFA

·       12-15 years of experience in commercial lending focussing on asset-backed lending for global banks

·       Working experience on systems like – Loan IQ, nCino, Moody's CreditLens, Solifi (formerly Stucky ABL) and Capital IQ etc.

·       Understanding credit agreements of loans and summarizing key deal terms

·       Training & mentoring junior colleagues along with reviewing, checking & overseeing and undertaking workflow planning

·       Excellent organization, oral, and written communication skills with ability to listen to requirements and business problems to respond with appropriate solution

·       Strong leadership, team management and problem-solving skills, with experience of leading large teams

·       Ability to work in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment and work independently with minimal supervision

 Preferred

·       Industry affiliation and leadership roles (e.g. RMA, GARP, PRMIA, regional banking association)

·       Knowledge of existing and evolving regulations impacting the ABL space

·       Public speaking experience, publications, and/or internal lead on training within an organization

·       Experience and enthusiasm of working with senior leadership on franchise development, client acquisition/farming and related business growth activities

·       Ability to influence and gain buy-in from sceptics
