Position Name: Section Head – GST / EXIM – Finance & Accounts

Critical Tasks1. Strategy

  • Develop and implement GST and EXIM compliance strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for tax efficiency, duty optimization, and trade incentive maximization.
  • Establish robust governance frameworks to mitigate indirect tax and trade compliance risks.

2. Execution

  • Lead GST compliance activities including return filing, reconciliations, annual returns, audits, and Input Tax Credit (ITC) management.
  • Monitor GST transactions to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Manage import of coking coal, spares, consumables, and capital goods.
  • Oversee export documentation, customs clearances, logistics coordination, and statutory export benefits.
  • Administer export incentive schemes such as RoDTEP, EPCG, Advance Authorisation, and other applicable trade benefits.
  • Coordinate with procurement, logistics, commercial, and finance teams to ensure seamless execution of EXIM transactions.

3. Governance

  • Liaise with GST authorities, Customs Department, DGFT, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Handle assessments, audits, investigations, notices, and litigation matters related to GST and Customs.
  • Ensure timely closure of audit observations and compliance gaps.
  • Maintain statutory records and documentation as per regulatory requirements.

4. People Management

  • Lead and mentor the GST and EXIM team to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Conduct periodic reviews, capability assessments, and performance evaluations.
  • Drive a culture of compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement.

5. Technology & Digitalization

  • Utilize ERP and digital platforms for GST compliance, tax reporting, customs filings, and EXIM documentation.
  • Drive automation initiatives to improve compliance monitoring, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Enhance data analytics and dashboarding for tax and trade compliance management.
