Job Purpose
We're hiring a SecOps Engineer III to engineer, enforce, and automate security controls across our cloud environment, with a primary focus on Azure. This role will design and implement governance guardrails, policy-as-code frameworks, DevSecOps integrations, and patch compliance enforcement to ensure secure, compliant, and scalable cloud operations.
You will own both preventative controls (secure-by-default deployments) and corrective controls (patching, vulnerability remediation, and configuration hardening). Success will be measured by improved policy compliance, stronger cloud security posture, improved patch compliance rates, and measurable reduction in critical vulnerabilities.
What You Will Do
Cloud Security Engineering
- Design and implement Azure security guardrails across management groups and subscriptions.
- Author and manage Azure Policy definitions and initiatives.
- Enforce RBAC governance, PIM, least-privilege access models.
- Improve Microsoft Defender for Cloud posture and remediation workflows.
DevSecOps & Automation
- Develop automation using Terraform, Bicep, ARM, PowerShell, Python, and Azure CLI.
- Integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines.
- Build policy-as-code and compliance-as-code frameworks.
- Implement automated remediation for non-compliant resources.
Patching & Vulnerability Compliance
- Drive cloud patch compliance across IaaS workloads and supported services.
- Engineer standardized patching workflows for Azure-based systems.
- Ensure critical and high vulnerabilities are remediated within SLA.
- Reduce repeat findings by implementing preventative controls.
- Monitor vulnerability dashboards and drive measurable improvement in closure rates.
Governance & Compliance Enforcement
- Enforce tagging, network segmentation, identity hardening, and configuration baselines.
- Provide audit-ready evidence for SOC 2 / ISO 27001 cloud controls.
- Ensure remediation actions positively impact security metrics and audit posture.
Metrics & Continuous Improvement
- Improve Azure Secure Score and policy compliance trends.
- Increase patch compliance percentage quarter-over-quarter.
- Reduce critical and high vulnerability backlog.
- Reduce manual remediation through automation.
- And other duties as assigned.
What To Bring
- 610 years experience in security engineering with strong cloud focus.
- Experience driving vulnerability remediation and patch compliance programs.
- Deep knowledge of Azure Management Groups, Azure Policy, RBAC, Entra ID governance, Defender for Cloud, and Azure networking security controls.
- Strong scripting and automation skills (Terraform or Bicep, PowerShell or Python, Azure CLI).
- Experience integrating security into DevOps pipelines.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks in cloud environments (SOC 2, ISO 27001).
- Preferred Certifications:
- AZ-500, SC-100, Terraform Associate, CISSP (optional).
