Seating CAD Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Create and manage 3D CAD models of seating components and assemblies using CATIA V5/V6
• Develop parametric models for seat frames, foams, trims, mechanisms, and comfort features
• Ensure CAD models meet packaging, ergonomic, and manufacturing constraints
• Perform clash detection and interface checks with surrounding vehicle systems
• Support DMU reviews, virtual build events, and design feasibility discussions
• Optimize seat layout for comfort, visibility, and safety compliance
• Collaborate with seating engineers to convert functional needs into robust CAD designs
• Support engineering release processes and ensure model maturity through development gateways
• Prepare drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation for supplier communication
• Work closely with Studio Design, Vehicle Architecture, and Manufacturing teams
• Participate in design reviews and provide CAD feasibility input
• Coordinate with suppliers to validate CAD data and assist with tooling development
