We are looking for a hands-on SEO Executive to strengthen Alankaram's online visibility and ensure our website ranks consistently for high-value keywords in both domestic and international markets.
Role Overview
The SEO Executive will support the Digital Marketing and Content teams in implementing day-to-day SEO activities — from keyword research and on-page optimization to link building, site audits, and reporting.
This is an execution-driven role, ideal for someone who enjoys working on detailed tasks, tracking progress, and continuously improving website performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical SEO
- Conduct regular SEO audits using tools like Google Search Console, Ahrefs, and Screaming Frog.
- Identify and fix crawl issues, broken links, and redirect errors.
- Update and manage sitemap and robots.txt for smooth site indexing.
- Coordinate with the web developer to ensure website speed and Core Web Vitals are optimized.
2. On-Page Optimization
- Optimize titles, meta descriptions, headers, and image alt tags.
- Implement keyword mapping across products, categories, and blog pages.
- Ensure internal linking, content hierarchy, and schema markup follow best practices.
- Work with the content team to align new blog posts and pages with SEO objectives.
3. Off-Page SEO & Link Building
- Identify backlink opportunities and execute ethical link-building campaigns.
- Submit and update business listings, directories, and guest post placements.
- Monitor backlink quality, report toxic links, and coordinate disavow files if required.
4. Keyword Research & Content Coordination
- Perform keyword research to identify new ranking opportunities.
- Maintain a keyword tracker and coordinate with content and design teams for ongoing updates.
- Suggest topics for blogs, buying guides, or category enhancements based on keyword trends.
5. Reporting & Monitoring
- Track website performance weekly — impressions, clicks, CTR, and keyword positions.
- Maintain a simple SEO dashboard in Google Sheets / Data Studio.
- Present monthly progress reports to the Digital Marketing Manager.
Required Skills
- Hands-on experience with Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, and Google Analytics (GA4).
- Strong understanding of keyword research, meta optimization, and technical SEO basics.
- Familiarity with Shopify and basic HTML tags.
- Good written communication and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow SEO SOPs and meet deadlines independently.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, IT, or Communication.
- 1–3 years of experience in SEO (e-commerce experience preferred).
