Sea Import Procurement Specialist (Ocean Freight)

We are looking for a dynamic, results-oriented Sea Import Procurement Specialist to join our growing freight forwarding team. In this critical role, you will be the primary architect of our ocean freight import strategies, securing competitive rates and building powerful relationships with Overseas Agents, Global shipping lines and NVOCCs.

Key Responsibilities

Rate Negotiation: Lead negotiations for ocean freight contracts and spot rates to ensure market-leading pricing for our customers.

Strategic Sourcing: Identify and manage relationships with steamship lines, overseas agents, and local logistics partners.

Tender Management: Spearhead the pricing and strategy for major import RFQs and tenders, ensuring high win rates through data-driven analysis.

Market Intelligence: Monitor global shipping trends, capacity fluctuations, and regulatory changes to provide proactive advice to internal sales and operations teams.

Vendor Performance: Establish and track KPIs (e.g., on-time delivery, cost per container) to ensure carrier service levels meet our high standards.

Compliance Mastery: Ensure all procurement activities adhere to Incoterms 2020, international trade laws, and local customs regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education: Master's Degree Require.

Expertise: Minimum [3-5] years in ocean freight procurement specifically within a freight forwarding environment.

Technical Savvy: Proficiency in logistics ERP systems (e.g., Efreight,Logisys, SAP) and advanced MS Excel skills for price benchmarking.

Dynamic Traits: A can-do attitude with the ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced, time-critical environment.

Negotiation Power: Proven track record of successfully negotiating complex high-volume contracts.
