Role Description

This is a full-time remote position for an SDS2 Modeler. The SDS2 Modeler will be responsible for creating detailed 3D structural steel models, generating accurate shop drawings, and coordinating with engineers, project managers, and contractors. They will ensure compliance with design specifications and schedules, contribute to constructability reviews, and collaborate to resolve field or design challenges. The role will involve executing precise modeling based on project requirements to support complex engineering and construction processes.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in SDS2 modeling software for producing 3D structural steel models and shop drawings
  • Understanding of structural detailing, construction techniques, and metal fabrication processes
  • Experience with engineering design and coordination of heavy industrial structures, commercial/residential buildings, and oil & gas projects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to review and interpret structural and architectural drawings
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • Familiarity with design codes and regulatory requirements governing structural engineering
  • Commitment to meeting project deadlines with high attention to detail
