Job Description:
• Chef Cookbook creation
o Previous experience in creating new cookbooks for new operating systems
o Previous experience in creating cookbooks for both Windows and Linux
o Previous experience in creating cookbooks for application deployment such as MS SQL, MongoDB.
o Previous experience with automated cookbook testing.
• Maintain existing Chef Recipes
o For all existing Chef recipes the team should maintain them in a working state. Update them as necessary to keep up with latest software releases and patches
o Monitor ticketing queue for Chef related trouble tickets that come in and remediate the issues
o If the Chef dashboard is reporting any issues, the team should create a trouble ticket for it and remediate it on their own
• Maintain Chef Automate software running on Paramount Cloud infrastructure
o We installed Chef on AWS EC2 and we maintain that software and upgrades to it. The team should be able to maintain this and upgrade when necessary
o There is also DR configured for Chef and the team should be able to initiate DR and support our configuration
o Make sure cookbooks are promoted across environments when deployed.
