Job Role: SDET Lead (Playwright)

Responsibilities
Job Description:
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust and scalable test automation frameworks using Playwright (JavaScript/TypeScript).
- Define and own the test automation strategy, standards, and best practices across projects.
- Drive automation coverage for Web UI, API, and regression testing.
- Review automation code and guide the team on framework enhancements, reusability, and performance optimization.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
- Collaborate closely with Developers, Architects, Product Owners, and DevOps teams to ensure testability and quality at every stage.
- Lead defect triage, root-cause analysis, and quality risk assessments.
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to release readiness and quality sign-off.
- Mentor and coach junior SDETs, conduct code reviews, and provide technical guidance.
- Track quality metrics, automation KPIs, and provide regular status reports to leadership.
- Continuously evaluate and introduce new tools, techniques, and improvements in test automation and quality engineering.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in software testing with at least 3+ years in test automation leadership.
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright using JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Proven experience in framework design from scratch and scaling automation solutions.
- Solid understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, DOM) and RESTful APIs.
- Strong experience in API testing and backend validation.
- Hands-on experience with Git and modern branching strategies.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD concepts, continuous testing, and DevOps integration.
- Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, TestRail, or equivalent.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong leadership mindset with the ability to influence quality culture across teams.
