Role Overview
MetLife is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to enhance our digital and AI transformation journey. This role is crucial in delivering high-quality software in an Agile environment by integrating test automation, leveraging Gen-AI toolsets, and ensuring rapid yet reliable releases.
Key Responsibilities
- Agile Testing:
- Adopt Agile methodologies in the software delivery lifecycle
- Participate in the planning and documentation of test strategies and acceptance criteria
- Test Automation & Execution:
- Develop efficient test automation scripts following coding standards and best practices
- Execute automated and manual test cases for new builds and regression testing
- Maintain and review automation scripts, troubleshoot failures, and fix broken test cases
- Defect Identification & Debugging:
- Work with software engineers to identify defects and regressions in the codebase
- Investigate, diagnose, repair complex bugs and manage bug reports effectively
- Performance & API Testing:
- Validate application functionality through test automation frameworks and dashboards
- Conduct API testing using tools like RestAssured, Postman, and KarateDSL
- Perform performance testing using JMeter and Blazemeter
Candidate Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience:
- 3+ years in automation testing in financial services or technology domains
- Strong knowledge of test methodologies and automation frameworks
- Proficiency in CI/CD, test-driven development, and Agile practices
- Hands-on experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber, Playwright)
- Language: Business proficiency in English; Japanese language is a plus
Skills & Competencies
- Test Automation: Experience in Selenium, Appium, TOSCA, and Playwright
- Development & UI Testing: Java, JavaScript, Python, GitHub, DS-Algo
- API Testing: RestAssured, Postman, KarateDSL
- Cloud & DevOps: Azure DevOps Test Plan, Perfecto, SauceLabs, BrowserStack
- Performance Testing: JMeter, Blazemeter
- Collaboration & Communication: Ability to work in global teams with a can-do attitude
