Description

We are seeking a talented Software Development Engineer II to join the Alexa Endpoints team, where you'll play a crucial role in building and maintaining the Alexa mobile application experience. This position focuses on developing and enhancing the software that enables seamless interaction between mobile clients and backend AI agents, delivering intelligent voice and conversational experiences to millions of users worldwide.
As an SDE-2, you'll work at the intersection of mobile development and AI-powered services, contributing to the evolution of Alexa's presence. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable solutions, optimize performance, and ensure robust integration between mobile platforms and cloud-based AI services.

Key job responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain the Alexa mobile capabilities that facilitates communication between iOS/Android applications and backend AI agents
Implement robust APIs and interfaces that enable seamless integration of Alexa capabilities into mobile applications.
Backend Integration & Service Development
Build and maintain service layers that connect mobile clients with AI-powered backend systems
Develop RESTful APIs and implement efficient data exchange protocols between mobile apps and cloud services
Work with backend systems to enable innovating features for Alexa+.

Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience with Android, iOS or other mobile application development or testing
