Xponent is an Architectural Design and Construction studio based in Jaipur.

We are looking for a visionary Artist or Sculptor Intern to join a unique residential project. This isn't a typical design gig; it is a hands-on opportunity to use a private residence as a canvas. We are seeking someone who views functional objectslike lights and furnitureas pieces of art.

If you love getting your hands dirty, experimenting with raw materials, and pushing the boundaries of functional sculpture, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

As our Artist-in-Residence, you will be responsible for the end-to-end creation of bespoke home elements. Your work will include:

Material Exploration: Experimenting with wood, metal, stone, plaster, and resin to discover unique textures and forms.

Conceptualization: Sketching and prototyping original designs for:

Wall Art: Large-scale relief sculptures or mixed-media installations.

Lighting: Sculptural light fixtures that play with shadow and organic shapes.

Functional Art: Accent furniture (side tables, pedestals) and decorative objects (vases, bowls).

Sourcing: Identifying and selecting raw materials (reclaimed wood, local stone, scrap metal, etc.).

Fabrication: Hands-on crafting, carving, welding, or casting of the final pieces.

• Documentation: Keeping a process log of experiments and final iterations for the project archives.

What We Are Looking For (Preferences)

We value creativity and the maker mindset over a long resume. Ideally, you are:

Material Obsessed: You have a foundational understanding of how to work with at least two of the following: wood, metal, stone, or clay.

A Creative Risk-Taker: You aren't afraid of a failed experiment if it leads to a breakthrough.

Skilled with Tools: Comfortable using basic shop tools (drills, grinders, saws, etc.) with a high regard for safety.

Design-Minded: Able to balance aesthetic beauty with the functional requirements of a home.

Qualification & Skills

• Current Student or Recent Grad: Pursuing a degree in Fine Arts, Sculpture, Product Design, or Furniture Design.
