Role Description The Scrub Nurse role at Lux Hospitals is a full-time, on-site position based in Hyderabad. The Scrub Nurse will prepare the operating room, ensure all surgical instruments and supplies are sterile and available, and assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining a safe, organized surgical field. Responsibilities include confirming patient identity and procedure details, participating in surgical safety checks, monitoring and maintaining aseptic technique, and collaborating closely with the surgical and anesthesia teams. The Scrub Nurse will also be responsible for post-procedure instrument care, documentation related to surgical activities, and support for continuous quality and safety initiatives within the operating theatre.
Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Nursing skills, including patient pre-operative and post-operative care and adherence to clinical protocols.
• Candidates should possess foundational Medicine knowledge relevant to surgical care, including understanding of common conditions, treatments, and clinical terminology.
• Candidates should possess skills related to Surgery and Operating Room procedures, including sterile technique, instrument handling, and intraoperative teamwork.
• Candidates should possess familiarity with Orthopedic Surgery or other surgical specialties, supporting safe and efficient assistance during specialized procedures.
• Valid nursing license/registration as per local regulations and completion of an accredited nursing program.
• Previous experience as a Scrub Nurse or in an operating room setting is highly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to remain calm under pressure, and commitment to patient safety and infection control standards.
• Effective communication skills, ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, and willingness to work shifts as required by surgical schedules.
