Job Description

The role

We're looking for a Scriptwriter for our YouTube team, someone who thinks in stories, not just sentences. You'll research destinations, understand what viewers are searching for, and turn that intent into clear, engaging scripts across travel guides, ticket explainers, and short-form videos.

This is a search-first writing role where you'll own the process from research and hooks to scripting and performance-led refinement, creating useful, compelling videos that help people decide what to book and continue driving discovery long after publication.

This role is based in Bengaluru. We're looking for candidates who are local or open to relocating.

What makes this role special

  • Write for what people are searching for. Create travel content that answers real questions people have while planning a trip, with the potential to rank on YouTube search and drive views for months.
  • Learn the whole craft. Get hands-on experience across research, audience intent, hooks, scripting, and refinement, building an understanding of what makes a video work from start to finish.
  • See the impact of your writing. Understand how your scripts influence views, click-through rates (CTR), and audience retention, and use these insights to make each subsequent script stronger.
  • Work with a lean, high-context team. Build your editorial judgement in an environment where clarity, originality, and useful storytelling matter more than polish for its own sake.

What skills & experience do you need

  • Strong writing skills and an instinct for storytelling, with the ability to turn complex or scattered information into clear, engaging, and genuinely useful scripts.
  • Strong research instincts: the ability to dig into a topic quickly, identify reliable sources, fact-check details, and uncover useful information that generic guides might miss.
  • An ear for video storytelling: comfort writing tight, conversational, spoken-not-written scripts that hook viewers early and work naturally alongside visuals.
  • An understanding of audience intent, with the curiosity to figure out what viewers are trying to learn or decide and translate that into relevant, engaging content.
  • Ownership and attention to detail: the ability to manage multiple scripts on tight timelines, incorporate feedback, and care about a video's success beyond the first draft.
  • Comfort collaborating with AI tools to accelerate research and drafting while maintaining factual accuracy, originality, and editorial judgement.

Bonus

  • Familiarity with YouTube, SEO, or how search-driven content ranks.
  • A sense for visual storytelling and how a script translates into an engaging video.
  • An interest in travel, destinations, and helping people make informed decisions about what to experience.
