The opportunity:
The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 2600+ skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, project Management, functional system testing, installation supervision, documentation and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest Operations hub. The India Operations Centre team at Chennai, Bangalore and Gurugram supports Hitachi Energy's units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Hitachi Energy To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.The Inventory Management Lead will play a vital role in ensuring effective inventory control and data accuracy across global operations. By collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders, this role will focus on minimizing excess inventory, standardizing processes, and improving data integrity within the organization. The Inventory Management Lead will provide actionable insights, optimize stock utilization, and drive alignment across plants worldwide, contributing to operational efficiency and strategic business objectives.
How you'll make an impact:
Lead the implementation of the GA SCM TT&L strategy in collaboration with internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with global policies, processes,systemsand the defined governance model.
Partner with GA Hubs and Global Product Groups (GPGs) toconsolidatevolume data andvalidateGA TT&L budget forecasts,targetsand planning assumptions.
Act as the key liaison with the TT&L Center of Expertise (CoE), reviewing centrally managed initiatives and coordinating their effective implementation within GA.
Monitor TT&LCoEservice-level performance and drive corrective actions or improvement initiatives whererequired.
Track GA SCM TT&L initiatives in close alignment with the TT&LCoE, ensuring progress, risks and dependencies are clearly visible.
Drive standardization, processharmonizationand supplier consolidation across GA Hubs and GPGs.
Engage GA Hubs and GPGs toidentify, develop andconsolidatea pipeline of opportunities supporting delivery of the GA TT&L cost reduction (CR) and cost avoidance (CA) plan conduct regular reviews tomonitorprogress against targets.
Act as a change agent by building awareness, supporting stakeholder engagement and enabling the successful rollout of new TT&L projects,toolsand processes.
Provide regular and ad hoc updates on TT&L topics, regulatorychangesand compliance requirementsidentify,addressor escalate gaps to ensure GAremainscompliant.
Collaborate with counterparts across other Business Units to exchange knowledge, benchmark performance and implement relevant best practices.
Represent GA in relevant workshops and provide input on GA forecasts,performanceand annual TT&L budget planning.
Support best-in-class delivery against Hitachi Energy KPIs, includingmaintainingaccuratepurchasing information records (PIRs), such as material weights and country of origin data.
Undertakeadditionalresponsibilities asrequiredto support the team and evolving business priorities.
Your background:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain management,logistics, businessadministrationora relateddiscipline.
Minimum of five years relevant experience in supply chain management, transport, trade,logistics,procurementor a related operational environment.
Experience working in cross-functional,matrixedor global organizations, with the ability to collaborate effectively across business units,functionsand geographies.
Knowledge of SAP or similar enterprise systems is desirable.
Fluent English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong commercial awareness, with an understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements or a willingness to develop thisexpertise.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management,negotiationand influencing skills.
Proactive and accountable, witha strong senseof ownership and the ability to drive topics forward independently.
Structured,collaborative,and results-oriented, with the ability to manage priorities and deliver outcomes in a dynamic environment.
