Purpose And Scope

Responsible for supply chain impact assessments for master data in global systems like SAP S/4 and IBP. Represents master data team in projects, create//maintain global data rules and is capable to train other SCM colleagues.

Responsibilities And Accountabilities

  • Performs roles of TDS, as described in Astellas master data governance policies and process designs
  • Decides on acceptance of incoming Impact Assessments (IA), capturing all relevant impact on behalf of the SCM MDM team and providing clear feedback. In case of findings, collaborate with relevant stakeholders to find a solution.
  • Capable of understanding an SCM product flow and explaining the essence to SCM MDM team colleagues. Challenges the publisher when needed. Oversees the impact of a product flow on the SCM master data and the SCM MDM internal documentation.
  • Understands business scenarios: the details of individual cases, as well as the general principles behind the business scenarios. Can decide, based on an impact assessment, what the impact on business scenarios is. Can instruct team colleagues about drawing new business scenarios, including decision making, documentation procedures and standards, etc.
  • Familiar with procedures and systems involved with the packaging materials process. Capable of explaining this to team colleagues. Capable of supporting other team members with the operational processes.
  • Data quality management. Data rules are the foundation for MDM quality. Knows the operational tools and procedures for the data checks. Ensures data standards are known and adhered to by the MDM community. Based on actual findings, incidents, or other inputs, identifies the need to come to new data rules, to adjust existing data rules or to decommission data rules, and align this with the other Technical Data Stewards. Ensures documentation and guidelines are updated following changes in the data rules. Manages implementation of new or updated data rules in the tools.
  • Data quality – incident management. Capable of determining the root cause of (conditional) Material Master data related incidents. Uses the root cause to come to a full assessment of the impact of an issue. Establishes a plan of actions for follow up of a data incident and the related analyses, including preventive measures. Manages the plan of actions to completion.
  • Takes, on behalf of the team, ownership of the content of deviations and CAPA's, as part of the resolution process.
  • Signals potential candidates for deactivation and documents them. Ensures other team members are doing the same. Ensures that the deactivation processes are performed on a regular basis. Leads the execution of the deactivation process: analysis, stakeholder engagement, decision making, documentation, follow-up in master data updates. Documents the findings, and initiates execution of the follow-up actions on the data by the regional execution teams.
  • Project Representing MDM in project and project support. Identifies the need for project participation by MDM team staff to Manager Global SCM Master Data Management, based on incoming requests or information. Participates in projects, representing the MDM-team as lead. Balancing the interests of the project team and the requesting business, the MDM team, future BaU of the project deliverables, and the SCM master data. Timely escalates to the right level when project circumstances make this necessary.
  • Project: Participates in projects for design, execution, documentation and approval of tests, including as part of formal project stage gates.
  • Small, ad hoc changes requests. Capable of vetting incoming requests and deciding about their validity and justification and communicating about the results to the requestor

Required Qualifications

  • Education is Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Develops and maintains master data management model and needed tools and methods to improve and guarantee the quality of master data.
  • Strong conceptual thinker who masters the full complexity of supply chain flows and their relationship with (SCM) master data.
  • Keeps track of trends and new developments in the master data governance domain and in the Astellas organization, and uses this knowledge in the MDM context when appropriate
  • Able to deliver on project objectives and manage stakeholders.
  • Hands-on knowledge of operational (master data) processes in common ERP (SAP) systems, preferably in the Pharma-domain.
  • Ability to lead people and teams in projects and activities, contribution to the development of the team and participation in job interviews and appraisals upon request.
  • Ability to lead development of knowledge management and data management on the area of master data, including outside supply chain.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have an experience of working with system Microsoft office like Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Access.
  • Have an experience of working with system SAP S/4 or ERP and IBP.
  • Have an experience of working with system rfXcel.
