Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Science Lab Assistant to support the effective functioning of Science laboratories in a CBSE school. The candidate will be responsible for preparing laboratory equipment and materials, assisting teachers during practical sessions, maintaining laboratory records, ensuring safety standards, and managing laboratory inventory.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare laboratories for practical classes as per the CBSE curriculum requirements.
- Ensure all laboratory equipment, chemicals, specimens, and materials are available and in working condition.
- Assist science teachers during practical demonstrations and laboratory sessions.
- Guide students on the proper handling of laboratory equipment and materials.
- Monitor stock levels and prepare requisitions for laboratory supplies.
- Maintain records of laboratory usage, equipment maintenance, and chemical storage.
- Ensure adherence to laboratory safety guidelines and CBSE norms.
- Conduct routine checks of laboratory instruments and equipment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Life Sciences, or related field).
- Teaching certification as per CBSE norms.
- Certification in laboratory safety or first aid will be an added advantage.
Experience
1–3 years of experience as a Lab Assistant in a school, college, or educational institution.
Knowledge of CBSE practical curriculum and laboratory requirements.
