Candidates based in Goa, or with strong local roots/familiarity with the region's schools and community, are strongly preferred

Job Type: Project-based (6 Months)

Reports to: Programme Lead

Salary: Negotiable, based on experience

Social & Media Matters is running a digital literacy and online safety programme in Goa. We're looking for a Goa-based School Coordination & Training Associate to be our on-ground point person building relationships with schools, coordinating session logistics, and supporting our trainers in delivering the programme to students and teachers.

Role Specifications:

School Coordination

  • Identify, approach, and onboard schools in Goa for the programme
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for school administrations, principals, teachers, and staff
  • Schedule sessions with schools and manage all on-ground logistics (venue, timing, equipment, permissions)
  • Maintain a running list/tracker of participating schools, contacts, and session status
  • Handle day-to-day communication and troubleshooting with schools before, during, and after sessions

  • Training Support

    • Assist trainers in conducting digital literacy and online safety sessions for students and teachers
    • Help set up session materials, activities, and any required technology at each venue
    • Support facilitation during sessions, managing groups, distributing materials, assisting with activities
    • Collect attendance, feedback forms, and session documentation (photos, notes) for reporting
    • Flag any local context, sensitivities, or school-specific needs to the training team in advance

  • Reporting & Coordination

    • Share regular updates with the core team on schools covered, sessions completed, and upcoming schedule
    • Compile session feedback and highlight what's working or needs adjustment

    Eligibility

    1. Based in Goa, or with strong local roots/familiarity with the region, and able to travel to schools across the region
    2. Prior experience in school outreach, coordination, training support, or community/education programmes would be great but not mandatory
    3. Comfortable speaking with school administrators and building professional relationships
    4. Comfortable working with children/teenagers and teachers in a training environment
    5. Organized, reliable, and able to independently manage a schedule across multiple schools
    6. Basic digital literacy, comfortable with smartphones, common apps, and internet safety concepts (training will be provided on programme-specific content)
    7. Fluency in English and Konkani/Hindi (or the local language commonly used in Goa's schools) preferred

    Preference

    • Prior experience with online safety, digital literacy, or child safeguarding programmes
    • Comfortable with basic reporting/documentation (spreadsheets, photos, short write-ups)
