Scheduler Roles and Responsibilities
- Monitor retail outlets daily stock levels of petrol and diesel
- Plan replenishment schedules based on consumption trends
- Prevent stock-outs and excess inventory
- Analyze historical sales/usage data
- Adjust forecasts for:
- Seasonal demand (festivals, summer travel & etc.)
- Price changes
- Market or regional demand fluctuations
- Coordinate loading/delivery timelines with Retail Outlet, Loading Terminal and Transport Operations team.
- Plan tanktruck dispatch schedules
- Ensure the right grade and quantity of fuel is delivered to each location
- Ensure scheduling complies with:
- Safety regulations (VRIP Guidelines)
- Company SOPs
- Maintain accurate inventory records
- Reconcile physical stock vs system stock
- Prepare reports on:
- Inventory levels
- Losses or gains
- Key performance indicators
- Minimize:
- Emergency supply
- Demurrage and detention charges
- Support cost-efficient sourcing and distribution decisions
Act as a central link between:
- Loading Terminal
- Transport Operations Team
- Retail Outlet Team
- Communicate delays, shortages, or changes in schedule promptly
- Plan for:
- Supply disruptions
- Tank Truck breakdowns
- Sudden demand spikes
- Maintain emergency stock plans
- Execute rapid rescheduling when issues arise
Key Skills Required
- Strong planning and analytical skills
- Knowledge of fuel logistics & storage systems
- Understanding of inventory control principles
- Ability to work under time-critical conditions
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
